Badges
From your very first day at Squirrels to your last day at Explorers, being a Scout is all about trying new things. You can work towards as many badges as you like, at your own pace.
Each award is packed with awe and awesome, perfect for anyone who’s ever asked ‘Why?’ (or ‘Why not?’). You’ll think about what makes you unique and learn to be the best friend you can be, enjoy your first campfire and meet some new people.
There’s something for everyone – and that means that there’s something for you.
Below are some of the different awards that Squirrels can work towards:
Chief Scout's Acorn Award
This is the highest award a Squirrel Scout can earn. It shows that you’ve had adventures, helped your friends, and learned new things – it’s a big achievement, and you should be proud!
Challenge Awards
Challenge Awards are all about stepping outside your comfort zone. Try out something you wouldn't normally be interested in. Take the lead on something that scares you. Along the way, you'll unlock hidden talents and stand tall.
Activity Badges
There are a number of Activity Badges which can be awarded to Beaver Scouts. These include Be Active, Brilliant Builder, Exciting Experiments, Feel Good, Get Creative, Go Wild, Let It Grow, Let's Celebrate, Local Superhero, Story Time, Super Chef.
Staged Activity Badges
Squirrels also work towards gaining Staged Activity Badges. They are completed in different stages, so after completing each stage Members are awarded the relevant badge. Some badges have different stages, for example, nights away are awarded after one, five and ten nights away (and more!). Stages badges are continued as young people move throughout the sections of Scouting.
